1/8/23 Steady Rule and More!

First off, WE HIT 2400 HOURS INVESTED!!! This is a HUGE mile marker and we are super excited to have made it this far! Where do we still stand? We are still working on play testing and creating Final Drafts for 15 other Codexes. As always, there are minor tweaks and changes to the Final Drafts to get them in the best place possible in lore and balance.

In other news, I have begun the extensive process of 3d printing a Leviathan Regimental HQ tank! This will most likely take months to finish. Progress can be viewed step by step on my Patreon, and seen on occasion on our Facebook Page and these weekly updates.

The Core Rule Book has undergone a few changes. Upon discussing implementing our rules to a Kill Team or Boarding Action terrain type setup, we stumbled upon the idea of altering Deepstrike.

After some play testing this works much better and allows Deepstrike heavy armies to not be at risk for utilizing their rules extensively (looking right at you Daemons!). Now if you bump into something that would hinder your placement, instead of rolling on a chart you move the Deepstriking unit the minimum amount to be 1″ away from all other models and immediately Pin them. Because there is no actual Pinning test, models immune to Pinning and Ld test are still forced to do just like if they were forced to Disembark from a Transport or Building that has been destroyed!

We have also on the other spectrum considered massive Apocalypse scale games where many players do not own enough models and must frequently respawn them from Reserves as reinforcements when they are destroyed. Melee armies may never get to fight at all and be pushed off the table completely! Now any unit in Reserve may choose to deploy from your middle table edge in your Deployment Zone, moving onto the table and may declare charges the turn they moved in from this table edge only. This also fixes some qualms about using Necron Teleportation technology and allow the models to get on the field in case everything is destroyed. This can also be used to reclaim objectives on your back lines if things go sour.

The Imperial Guard needed some text corrections to the Leviathan Regimental HQ, and so both that profile and the Capitol Imperialis have been tentatively updated. Both are New Years resolutions, and I am looking forward to this journey!

The Chaos Rough Draft received some updates as well. The Khorne Berserkers were updated to be able to swap their pistols for another Melee weapon. The play test that happened with Khorne got a good response back about the Jakhal options being built in to the cultist profile. Watch your cultist point costs so they do not get out of hand! Eightbound tested well also, and further testing with both them and the Exalted upgrade will help prepare the Chaos Codex for a Final Draft status.

Necrons officially have received the Steady rule on the appropriate units. This allows a model to Shoot as if it did not move this turn and Declare Charges regardless of the Weapon Profiles it shot with. This has been in the works for a while and has been deemed appropriate on these units. Imperial Guard and Tyranids did not have any units that met the qualifications we were looking for at this time.

Necrons added the Seraptek Weave to the royal characters. It was uncovered as an older edition upgrade and has been restored as appropriate. We are investigating the special exoskeleton claw hand that Imotekh has as a possible forgotten piece of Wargear from older editions. If you know anything about it please reach out to us! It is very difficult to find information on this.

Lastly, some Heavy Choice units received some weapon tweaks to better get the feel of the army. Doomsday Arks followed the way of the other similar units and switched to a R72 SDestroyer AP1+ Heavy 1 3″ Blast as it is supposed to kill titans and (more importantly) was over shadowed by the Canoptek Stalkers.

Canoptek Stalkers had their weapon boosted by S+1 so they can engage heavier vehicles with better results for their points. They still serve the function of ranged bombardment and heavy infantry and monstrous infantry hunters.

Tesseract Arks swapped their 3 shot 3″ blast weapon for a two shot Melta weapon. The excellent quality Flame weapon as an alternate fire choice clashed to much with the multi blast profile. While only coming in units of 1, they can now flexible challenge anything on the field!

Space Marines are a slow and steady work. We finished the 7th edition Dark Angels Characters, Death Watch Characters, and are into Space Wolves. After that it is just the Characters in the core book, and then on to other editions and do it all over again! Characters that underwent the Primaris Augmentation can purchase the upgrade in their datasheets.

As always, we are striving to bring better rule balance and clarity for you use! If you have any feedback please reach out to us here on the website, Facebook, Patreon, our Patreon Discord, or by email! We would love to chat about the rules, the hobby, your battle reports, and anything else Warhammer!
