We have been working on a 2.0 version of the Orks for several weeks now, and we are getting close to finishing! Our original design mirrored their origin codexes more closely, but due to GW squeaking them out of the established formulas (when they even choose to use one!). Naturally, they were just too point heavy no matter what we did to get the right feel on the field.
Our reboot (of a reboot) goal is to make them feel more like a ramshackle horde that suffers small and random ailments as they carpet the field in a tide of green and rust. The core of the army, Ork Boyz in their many varieties, offer a True Aura Leadership equal to their unit population.
Their vehicles have been rebooted to be fielded in more quantity per unit, but occasionally suffer catastrophic failure. Some have slightly lower defences now to help get the feel that they are ramshackle and not somehow superior by being faulty.
All that is left is HQ, Advisors, and Lord of War. We have altered Grots to be able to run their own standalone army as well! We look forward to finishing the army and sharing the rough draft with all of you!
