We had a great week of progress! Space Marine Unique Characters are a slow grind of attrition between my brain and the vast lore to try and bring them to life as best as possible to the tabletop. Blood Angel characters that existed in 7th edition have been drafted up, and we are on to the next batch (plus some other odds and ends as we go).
Adeptus Mechanicus had their first battle yesterday. While I had to live vicariously and hear all about it, they had a great game and we can start working on the rough patches that were expected for a first play test. We adjusted some weapons, added some extra options to the Repair capable characters to Heal a Monster one Wound instead (or two in place of Cawl!) Some more work will be done through out the next week, but we are eager to see them in action again!
Tyranids received their missing Dimachaeron. At some point it vanished from the Final Draft somehow, but it is returned. Text clarification for Mine Launchers was added to clarify that they do not drop a blast and a Mine(s), just the Mine(s). The Tervigon received its optional Flame weapon upgrades that were missed.
Imperial Guard, as always, has managed to find other bizarre and esoteric weapon options. Veterans may now swap their Lasguns for Laspistols thanks to old Catachan Rules I had forgotten about. Rough Riders have some new options with the new rules released. They now may optionally take a Lasgun each, and the Hunting Lance has a competitor. The Hunting Lance is a RMelee, S6, AP3+, Armourbane weapon, and the Infantry Lance is a RFlame, S3, AP-, Assault 1. This may cause issues, and it will be tested to try and incorporate the role of the Hunting Lance and the role of the new frag warhead.
In addition, the Valhallan’s had a very good feeling game earlier in the week, where I enjoyed incredibly swingy dice rolls and respawning hordes of Conscripts thanks to Commander Chenkov. Their ability to shoot into Melee on a Ld test resulted in a lot of friendly fire, and Chenkov was not happy with the third respawn of Conscripts that emptied 150 shots into his battle (there may have been a little payback for the previous 3 units of Conscripts being wiped out, but don’t tell the Commissar!).
As always we enjoy your feed back and hope you slay some xenos to make the Emperor happy!
