Several good things happened this week! First we had a great game with my Vostroyan Firstborn verses the Sautekh Dynasty. We got a Video Battle Report recorded AND, by popular demand, I wrote up a Narrative Battle Report as well!
Speaking of Video Battle Reports, we have some new ideas to spice them up and make them more enjoyable to watch while painting your pile of shame or assembling the latest additions to your army. One of the supporters of our efforts is a very talented multimedia technician (I believe I used the right term). One of the things I was speaking to him about was something called Transparent Overlays. One of the many (many many) things I would like to do is make the camera view from above look like a skull probe or satellite that is observing the battle. We got a new camera mounting system and want to make this more thematic and immersive. But to do so is going to cost money.
If you want to see upgraded versions of our Video Battle Reports, please pop over to our Patreon (found on the navigation bar of this website) and join up! A benefit I am planning on putting together will let subscribers pick a model to be named after them. Their deeds, deaths, and oddities will be forever recorded on a score board. The higher your subscription, the higher your model selection! We try to not ask for monetary value, and will continue to develop rules without it, but it does help our site and Channel get off the ground!
The Narrative Battle Report was done differently this time. I went through the footage and did a blow by blow of what happened, but from a units perspective as if they were activating and resolving all actions one at a time instead. My hope is this makes the battle easier to follow, but this took a massive amount of time to accomplish. If you prefer this style, or any other style, please reach out to us so we know how to best share our gaming experiences with you!
Other notes of things to note from this week is a colour coded Dozerblade keyword in the Imperial Guard Codex to make spotting rule descriptions and Wargear costs easier to spot. Necrons had an update performed on the Void Dragon’s tail with the Auxiliary rule that had been missed. Lastly, Imotekh had the internet scoured for him as well as books to find out that his special exoskeleton hand is indeed a weapon that is never used in any reference we could find and has no name ever given to it. We developed it as a Slow heavy hitter to better supplement his staff.
This was a very good week, a lot was done to the existing Chaos Rough Draft. We have a very eager player contributing to the rule development on a weekly basis making this project much more fun and easy! Guardsmen pre orders go live next week as well! I am looking forward to flushing out the Imperial Guard Codex with the latest in Imperial weaponry the moment we can get our hands on it (woe is the wallet of a Warhammer player).
As always, happy wargaming and may the dice gods be merciful on your soul as my Death Krieg shovels will not!
