2/26/23 Custodes Galore

What a productive week everyone! This week we had a great test of Grey Knights vs Custodes and two Orks vs Custode games!

Alex has been a real trooper, traveling and getting games for Custodes in despite working so much this week. Jordan took the dive with the first ever play test of the Grey Knights. Charlie was gracious enough to host a double game and continue working with the Ork Codex.

To summarize, Grey Knights hit pretty close to the mark we were aiming too, which is always great! Our Ork player is slowly ramping up the builds and with wargear and is having some great success from the sounds of it. Custodes are feeling great on the defense, but have two points of interest that need work.

First point is their offense is very powerful but struggles with hordes. This was expected, but a bit worse than hoped for. They also have a bit of trouble fighting high damage output units point for point. This will likely be rectified by point two.

The second point is the Custodes feel elite, but they do not feel like the Emperor’s bodyguards. Not in the way they need to be more elite, but rather in the sense of “what are they doing here in force” and “does the army abilities feel like a bodyguard specialist”?

Like some supplemental rules we have used on other armies, I believe this will help balance the current point deficit and achieve the uniqueness we are seeking.

In other news, the massive rear section of the Leviathan Regimental HQ was completed as well as many smaller parts. Nearing the end if the fourth roll of PLA but the project goes on!

As always we appreciate all of your feedback and support! Happy wargaming!
