3/5/23 Custodes, Steel Legion, and Necrons

Overall this week has been rather productive! For starters, Custodes are getting lots of play tests in courtesy of Alex. He is working hard at struggling through the challenges of playing one of the most polar armies in 40k and we appreciate it immensely! Multiple changes continue to be implemented and tested, and we look forward to them qualifying for Final Draft status!

Imperial Guard saw a few changes. They were the first Final Draft, and that meant the first to implement Regimental rules (or equivalent for other armies). While the Armageddon Steel Legion rule was useful, it was not a polished tool. Per one of our Narrative Battle Reports this week, they have been tested successfully! Instead of treating Transports as being equipped with Assault Ramps, they now get a 5+ Cover Save the turn the Disembark. The -1 that applies to some of their Cover Saves does not affect this Save.

They also saw a missed option from the new Heavy Weapons Team box. Heavy Weapons Teams can now take a Vox Caster! This has always been rather odd to me, as your support weapons should critically be in communication for maximum effect. In spirit of this, we have also added the option to Special Weapons Squads. Additional changes thanks to the new boxset is the option to swap the Lasgun for a Laspistol. To accommodate the new models, the option has been added.

Servo arms have gained the Auxiliary rule. Changes will take place in all Rough Drafts over time, but the Imperial Guard codex has been updated.

Necrons have had their Warscythes going back and forth for a while. After extensive play testing, they have been brought back to Sx2 AP2+ Slow, Monsterbane weapons. We have added War Glaives as a S+2 AP2+ Counterattack weapon, but they are limited to various HQ and Advisor slots. Characters from older editions prior to War Glaives that are more Glaive like than Warscythe have been updated to reflect the visual appearance for a more immersive gameplay unless they had a unique weapon.

The Leviathan Regimental HQ continues to go well! The prow of the tank was printed in just over 53 hours! We are just over half way done I believe. I cannot wait to get it completed, show it off, and then field test it!

Overall great progress is being performed for the Rough Drafts, and we are excited to have you join us in our adventure! Reach out for rule materials, answers, or even just your own enjoyment of the hobby! The Emperor, protects.
