3/26/23 Space Marines

Last week we had an exciting 120+ Custode Codex download! Most of the time we get very little response and it feels like the efforts to make the work public is ineffective, but that was immensely humbling. 86 of the downloads happened in the first 24 hours! We appreciate so many of you showing your interest in the project, and are open to feed back and answering questions should you have any!

On the Custode note, one Shield Host out of two that were competing for Stealth got moved to Infiltrate. Also, we recently discovered the Knight Centura. I do not believe it was around when the rough draft data entries were being released and did not catch wind of it until now. The Knight Centura brings a Reroll 1s To Wound Aura as well as the typical main weapons of the Sisters of Silence in the form of an Advisor Slot. This excellent edition makes them even more versatile for their points and will help them join the gauntlet that rough drafts must run through.

For balance and to avoid power creep, the final gauntlet will always be the same. Our two surviving first Rough Drafts and our first Final Drafts are the Imperial Guard and the Necrons. The third pillar had to be stripped and rebuilt from the ground up, but the Ork Codex is also well on its way!

The Imperial Guard had a duplicate missile entry removed under the Vulture Gunship. While converting a wing of P40 Warhawks to Vulture Gunships for my Praetorian Guard I spotted the discrepancy and it has been corrected!

The Leviathan Regimental HQ 3d printing project is nearing four months of work, but is getting closer! A Dremel has been acquired, and once some cleanup on pin sockets is done assembly can begin. Several more pieces need printed, but can be added as completed.

As the title suggests, Space Marines are well under way! I have begun the work of transcribing the tested units to Final Draft format. This will take an extended period of time, but steady progress will make for a much quicker finish once they hit the breaking point.

Space Marines are being tested a bit differently with the Custode Shield Hosts concept in mind. By having two points floating on the Infantry (four on Monstrous Infantry, Monsters, and Vehicles, ten on Titanic models) they can have the specialization that the Space Marines should represent in a d6 system without immersion breaking penalty rules that do not fit. The Chapter rules very wildly, but are ready to begin testing.

As always, we appreciate you comments, likes, subscriptions, and feedback! Happy Wargaming!
