4/9/23 Space Marines and the Leviathan Regimental HQ

It has been another great week! We are making a lot of good progress in several Codexes and are excited to share the latest news with you!

For starters, we had the highly anticipated first battle report for the Imperial Guard Leviathan Regimental HQ! As a recap, this monster of a tank has been a 3d print in the works for four months, taking over 560 hours to complete! It still needs a proper paint job, but that is another task entirely.

The concern was no model greater than W40 has ever been tested. This monster of a tank sits at W80 with Void Shields 4! The formula was drafted almost two years ago, and while tested extensively there was no practical way to mathhammer the extremities of the scale of full on titans. We knew it would come up eventually and be tested/adjusted as needed at that point. Good news, we hit that point! Yet somehow, the formula is holding up! We are changing the original cautious six play tests to two after how well it went.

Despite its durability, it most definitely is killable in melee. Next test is against a ranged army to see if it can be killed or contained in its preferred element. The important note here is not whether or not it can be killed, but rather can a balanced list win a game against this monster of a tank. So far, it has massively struggled to earn Victory Points as expected. While its Doomsday Cannon is massively formidable, it cannot fire close to itself due to its blast size. A ranged test will see if it is too much to bare or not. Once fully tested and modified, updates will be reflected on the Codex.

Orks saw more tests and a Narrative Battle Report as well. Ghazghkull Thraka saw an change of A+1 and a reroll 1s To Hit Aura. Further testing will continue to see him developed!

Space Marines translation to Final Draft status is still underway (and will be for some time, its a massive Codex). Generic Fast Attack and most of Heavy Support are completed! I also stumbled across the Land Raider Ares recently and look forward to kit bashing one for my Dark Angels!

During the process of making the Primaris entries I determined there was a clearer way of demonstrating point costs for the entire unit to swap their weapons out for another of the same class with variable sized units. I went back to the appropriate Necron entries and applied this to add clarity.

We also hit over 100 Facebook members! This is super exciting! In the wise words of Plankton to what do we do now, “I don’t know, I never thought I would get this far!”

We look forward to continuing to work on Space Marines and other Codexes! As always, we love feedback and answering questions!
