4/23/23 Space Marine Codex Live!

A major milestone has been achieved! We got the Space Marines to Final Draft stage, and it is considered to be balanced well enough to be competitive with other released Codexes!

Due to the volume of Chapter specific characters and units, a separate file is under construction that includes all of these. We are still working through this and it will take some time. However, Chapter rules are present in this Codex for your use in your battles using our Alternative Core Rule Book found on our Rulebooks page. A rough estimate would add another 60 pages to the Space Marine Codex if we included these units! That is a bit too much to scroll through for my taste. Eventually, once all projects are complete, there is a chance each Chapter will get a full Codex with only their models inside. This is way, way in the future, so we will see what happens.

For those of you who are new to the project, We started this nearly two years ago. As a twenty year veteran of Warhammer 40k, I found 8th and 9th to be frustrating. Watching people quit the hobby after decades because they could not enjoy it anymore was absolutely gut wrenching, so I decided to do something about it. If you want to see change, you have to be that change.

Now, almost two years later and over 2800 man hours, we present to you our fifth Codex! A LOT of time went into the Space Marines. We know that Space Marine players enjoy their Chapter identities (tenths announcement about that is incredibly disheartening, but we are here for you!).

This is a Living Codex, meaning it will see occasional updates, but they are rarely major shifts in power. Generally such changes are to achieve lore flavor on the tabletop that is not as strong as we would like it to be. Our goal is to make this game as immersive and thematic as possible! We want you to visually feel the Titanic units slug it out on the table turn after turn. Feel your heart swell in pride as your last, humble firstborn marine claims the Objective while surrounded on all sides in one last defiant move that secures the winning Victory Point. Such things are long gone from the game, and we wanted to bring that back!

As per the last Weekly Post, we are IP compliant per GWs website. We make no money on the rules in any way or form. We do not deploy Google AdSense. As such, you may find typos because I cannot hire a professional editor. If you see them, please make a list of where you found them and what they are and reach out to me. I want this hard work to be as professional as possible, but am still nothing more than an organic meatbag serving to grind through the laborious task of creating Codex after Codex for the Emperor and his Imperium.

If you have any questions, please reach out to us! We love feedback, explaining the madness that works that back end of the point system (a very long 120 hours that I spent developing it!), and taking in new ideas!
