Anyways, I will keep you all up to date with the latest progress ‘ere!
Thankfully, this site comes with an Ork Translator
Good news everyone! With Space Marine Chapter Supplements posted and being tested, work has finally turned to the Ork Codex! Our Ork player has been very patiently testing the rules using the rough draft excel sheet and is no doubt excited to look at a normal rule book layout. Not a lot of news apart from that, but here are some unique mechanics you can expect.
Dakka gives 1 Auto Hit for every natural 6 rolled to hit (This means blast weapons and flame weapons cannot do this). Want melee weapons to do the same? grab yourself an Ork Warboss and use his Choppa Aura.
Poor Maintenance makes Ork Vehicles dirt cheap, but in each of your command phases you have to roll a d6 for each Poor Maintenance unit. On a 1 you have to choose if it is going to move or shoot this turn.
Want to go faster and have more risk of failure? Orks got you covered! With Red Paint adding M+2, you can also take a Turbo Charga that allows you to Advance d6″ in the Movement Phase instead. (Shooting Phase normally for Alternate 40k Rules). If you roll a 1, instead of Moving your Vehicle (or 1 for each in a unit) suffers 1 Mortal Wound and cannot Move, Advance, Charge, or Fall Back this turn. The chance to advance d6″ without skipping shooting is great, but has some risks. Want to mitigate those risks? Take a Grot Oiler. You automatically roll a 6 as a One Use Only. While he is out of special gas mix, he also likely got himself sucked inside a turbine, ate by a Squig, shot by someone (probably Ork), fell off, or burst into flames as the fumes ignited.
‘Ere We Go! allows for the reroll of failed Charges.
Orks are a bunch of fun guys, and we will keep you posted as the final draft develops!
