11/19/23 Tau Empire

This past week was exciting! We had the release of our Dark Eldar Codex which plays very well to its strengths and weaknesses. While a bit more forgiving then historical editions, it still gives a hard line between well coordinated strategy and unforgiveness for failing your Archon.

We also saw Space Marines get 5 historical Chapters added as well as several characters! I was quite pleased to find more of these cool and unique heroes, particularly for the Salamanders who far to often get overlooked.

As the title suggests, we are on the final testing stages for the Tau Empire! This Codex was actually one of our earliest tests, being the 5th Rough Draft written I believe. It has seen extension core function testing already, and with the Final Draft modernizing the final touches it has a strong feel of an advanced modern warfare army with its immense Drone support network, Seeker Missile strikes, and Marker Lights providing tactical data on enemy positions, the Tau Empire is truly one of the most powerful shooting factions in the game!

Melee is no slouch to them either, but they will be unable to rival Khorne or Tyranids on a point for point basis. However, with a rework of the various Kroot units and thanks to the new wargear options from their Kill Team box they are able to run a series of stealth units outside of the XV25 Stealth Suits with more flexibility then ever before!

The Tau bring a lot of wargear options, and with the system being revamped and opened up to more possibilities then historically allowed, they will be a highly adaptable and formidable force! They are still in the final concept works and testing, but a clearer picture can be painted once I complete the paperwork and we get it queued up for testing with Squats (Leagues of Votann), Chaos Undivided, Khorne, Nurgle, Slaanesh, Tzeentch, Traitor Guard, and Imperial Knights.

Lastly, I’m prepping for my next YouTube series that will be breaking down the Imperial Guard Codex for Alternate 40k Rules and their strategies by datasheet. If you want to have your army showcased please email pictures to alternate40krules@gmail.com. Even if you do not have guard, feel free to send any you have. Good or bad, they will be included when I get to the appropriate Codex review. A tribute to the great fans that make this hobby possible is important to me, and its a small way to unite everyone.

As always we appreciate your support and feedback! Happy wargaming! Be safe and enjoy the holidays with those around you, but make sure you stay safe. If you do something dumb and you die, your wife will sell your army for what you told her you paid for it and that is just unacceptable! (seriously though don’t drink and drive).
