This week I have been able to a lot more test games in than I have in a while! First things first, I made some more progress transcribing the Genestealers to Final Draft format. I am down to just Genestealer specific HQ and Advisors. I will be going back and adding the fallen Imperial Guard once this is completed. After that, just more play tests!
Necrons are seeing C’Tan get a major boost in defense and a minor boost in offense as they move to affordable Lord of War choices. This helps them feel more awe inspiring and less like off hand choices that can be taken in mass, which just is not supported by lore.
Tyranid have finally got the bugs (you see what I did there?) worked out of their new units for Alternate 40k Rules. They are in the queue to get updated as well. I am quite excited with what we have done, as the Tyranids now have more monsters to devour organic material with! It was a great challenge, but we were able to give each one a unique identity.
Chaos supplements outside of Chaos Knights are pretty well confirmed at this point as not being broken. We are undergoing last stress tests with the core Undivided Codex to ensure that combinations of certain units do not make the game unplayable. Alex is great at this, and with a battle report that will be out shortly demonstrates a very powerful death ball of Obliterators. However, they were woefully inadequate at making Victory Points and would struggle heavily in a tournament setting. We are continuing to try and break them to ensure the rules are as fair as possible upon release.
Lastly, I was able to get out the Infantry overview for the Imperial Guard on YouTube this past week. I am planning on getting more Imperial Guard break downs done this week. If you want your Imperial Guard collections, rare models, conversions, etc showcased please email them to Alternate40kRules@gmail.com so I can get them included!
Extra lastly, it has been so cold that getting a part started for the Capitol Imperialis on the 3d printer will cause warping. If I can catch it while it is near 40 degrees I have a better chance at getting it thick enough for when it drops below freezing before it can warp. The material cause is immense, so I am playing on the side of caution.
As always, happy wargaming!
