The last of the Codexes that dont pool from other sources is compiled! All thats left is Inquisition and Chaos Knights.
This is subject to change with play testing, but with inspiration from feedback to get a better lore feel for the Sisters I think the concepts are all in a good place. The short version is while Sisters of Battle bring a limited Codex, they will have a very solid Infantry base on the field.
First of their abilities is most Characters and Independent Characters have Faith #. This allows for a number of rerolls To Hit, To Wound, Saves, or Feel No Pain that the unit can utilize.
Next is Martyrdom #. This acts like Faith, but is one use only and does not replenish. This is only granted upon a model’s death, with leadership models granting higher numbers. Most infantry bring this to the table.
Lastly, the Canoness can upgrade to a Canoness Superior. This is similar in authority to a Chapter Master from the Space Marines. While their is a minor stat line improvement, it gives the ability for the Canoness Superior to auto lose the Initiative roll and grant her infantry a 5+ Invulnerability Save as they pray for the Emperor’s protection on cusp of battle.
Unit wise, a lot of old units are back. They have a Chimera like transport with Fire Ports, Avenger fighter squadrons, Arvus Lighters, Redemptionists, Novitiates, and the Incarcerator that can abduct enemy models off the table to deliver to the Ecclisiarcy!
Lastly, some characters did not make the port into the Alternate 40k Rules Sisters of Battle Codex. In the past, GW lumped them in to help give datasheets to a formerly neglected codex. In lore, these characters only had command of Imperial Guard forces or serve an Inquisitor directly. They are included in the appropriate Codexes.
