2.5 years, 3800 man hours. All Codexes are compiled and either published or back logged on play tests. Honestly, all of these Codexes are mechanically fine. We are just screening for unintentional game breaking builds.
More importantly, we are trying to ensure all of them have a strong lore feel and are not boring mechanical jargon. I think we have pretty well nailed that. There are always some new and improved ideas we have stacked up to implement as well.
On to the Inquisitor content. We are experimenting with the legendary assassins as Lords of War. We will have to thoroughly test this of course, but I think we are in a good spot with them and will only need minor tweaking. Inquisitors come to the field with a heavy hand against a favoured enemy model. They are the scariest men in the Imperium of Man and can cause units to automatically pass Ld Tests as well. They bring the best of the best from each faction of the Imperium, allowing them to build a hyper elite force composed of select elements of the Grey Knights, Death Watch, Sisters of Battle, and the Imperial Guard.
While Alternate 40k Rules is not done by any means, it is massively on its way to being fully published and tournament ready. I have worked on this project almost every single day for 2.5 years. The last few days have been REALLY weird for me. I always am working on a new project or concept, and I have never focused on one project exclusively for so long.
I have a bunch of new game ideas I have been jotting down during Alternate 40k Rules. I am going to attempt the big jump and start my own company publishing my own games! This will be a brand new frontier for me and I am not sure on what kind of timeline things will be happening in. I have put a TON of work into Alternate 40k Rules (and will continue to do so even though I will never make money off of it). If you are able to appreciate the heavy back end work on the system and how well balanced it is, I ask you to consider staying tuned for our next games and giving us a chance to get started!
