4/28/24 Genestealer Cult Codex Live! Custodes turn Herohammer!

We got another Codex live! Genestealer Cults have passed our trials and are ready for your enjoyment. They bring a massive control dynamic to the battlefield, forcing you to decided between shooting GSC units or Terrain. They can also force you into awkward positions as you try to block all of their Emergence Holes and still control Objective Markers. Combined with their manipulative spells and wargear, they can force the enemy to fight on their terms.

In addition, they have access to corrupted Guardsmen and their wargear. While a bit worse for wear, their equipment is still lethal. So long as you do not mind the occasional break down, they come in cheaper due to Poor Maintenance and Limited Ammo. They do gain a Ld+1 boost because of the nature of their affliction which helps them be more stalwart!

While the GSC is capable of fighting heavy front line engagements it is incredibly well suited for Guerilla warfare. Striking from the shadows, shutting down enemy movement, and turning enemies against each other in brief fits of traitorous acts are just examples of the way GSC forces can harass your foe!

Custodes got a boost we have been discussing for a bit. Each unit now comes in a minimum of a 1 model force! Most can still come in 1-6 for heavy engagements where Auras are important. They can still have a 1:1 ratio of Independent Characters to models like before, but can only purchase 0-1 Advisors per Troop Slot purchased with these latest changes. Given that your typical Custode Troop choice is about 180 points a model before upgrades, they are still small in number!

All Custode models (outside of Sisters) are now A4 or better. We boosted their Spear weapons to be S+2 instead of +1, while maintaining their AP2+. This will allow them to wound most Monsters on a 4+ instead of a 5+. Their Sentinel Blades are now only SUser AP3+, but have Extra Attack 2 instead of Extra Attack 1.

Point corrections were made to the Vexilus Praetor and Knight Centura.

Point corrections were made for some Sentinel weapons for the Imperial Guard. This was updated in their Traitor Guard Chaos Supplement and the Genestealer Cult Codex as appropriate.

We are now 12 Codexes and their supplements ready for Tournaments! We hope to keep working on these and bring you a complete game soon. As always we appreciate your feedback and are excited for the next step!
