5/19/24 Branching into a Supportive Community

Greetings everyone! This week has had several interesting developments. First, to celebrate some fantastic news with a friend, we got together to do a quick 10th edition game. Due to dice rolls (and incredibly open play with units that should probably be more confined) the game ended on Turn 1 with what probably would have been a near 100% casualty rate. We did have fun, but it just did not have the ring of the classic style of play that I enjoyed growing up. In fact it went so one sided I scraped any concept of making a Battle Report, as it would literally just be the Lord Solar saying “I came, I saw, I conquered.”

As far as branching into the community goes, I have been following Horus Galaxy on reddit. For those of you who are not familiar with the reddit page, it is based entirely on being a political safe social media and getting away from the politically charged massed posts a lot of social media outlets are getting overwhelmed by. Not everyone wants that of course they just want to enjoy the hobby.

As of today I was made a moderator for Horus Galaxy! I am super honored they considered me and welcomed me in. I hope to continue to contribute to the hobby and its fans by helping keep a more opened group with less censoring of those who just disagree with the other members. It is, of course, still enforced by rules that are intended to prevent bullies and tourists (people that know nothing of the hobby and are just there to force their ideals on everyone else for no reason whatsoever). Basically, just be a decent human being. If you do not agree with someone, just keep scrolling.

There is a lot of good artwork, paintjobs, and freedom of speech. If you are not already part of the group, I highly recommend you check it out at https://www.reddit.com/r/HorusGalaxy/

I am still working through updating the Core Rulebook for Alternate 40k Rules. I am about 2/3rds of the way there. Trying to make it professional and clear as possible! I appreciate your patience. There is also going to be a clean up and condensing of all Codexes and Supplements where possible to shorten pages and modernize the look.

As always, happy wargaming! May the dice be in your favour and the super glue on your minis strong!
