Armageddon Steel Legion Showcase

For my Steel Legion I went with inspiration from Helsreach animated video. I picked a more dead sand wasteland like most of its terrain outside of the hive walls. I also assigned more of my heavy close and personal weaponry due to their many battles with the Orks. This means out of my collection they get priority for Demolisher Leman Russ tanks and antitank guns.

*The might of the Armageddon Legion, or at least as much as I can muster at the moment.*

*An old Lord Commissar stakes the parade viewers, looking for potential threats*

*A 3rd party sculpt that looks fantastic! I’m getting better with the color blending and glow effects, but still have a ways to go skill wise.*

*Commissar, Enginseer, Primaris Psyker x2, Imperial Navigator, Minostorum Priest*

*A second Company Command Squad (behind the plasma gunners), designed to be a mobile command unit as leadership breaks down mid battle.*

*Heavy Weapon Squad, plus an extra rifleman and 2 old artillery crew. From my understanding these were once upon a time used by GW for crews.*

*Powerfists are supposed to have an energy field. I haven’t quite nailed down a way I want to do it yet. In this case I angled it higher than I should have, but we will just roll with it!*

*Burnt coils really help that glow pop better!*

*A full squad, with a partial squad for backup*

*Last squad of the Stormtrooper Platoon is equipped with Jump Packs. This allows for maximum mobility after making their initial assault for when the battle turns sour.*

*A Leman Russ Tank Commander leads a squadron of Demolishers. It is escorted by the Fortress of Arrogance, Lord Yarrick’s personal command tank.*

*A Shadowsword brings up the rear with a Trojan Recovery Vehicle.*

*4 Chimeras move along side a unit of Hounds equipped with Melta weapons for flanking heavy armor.*

If a single model could be blamed for my Imperial Guard obsession, its the Armageddon Pattern Hydra Flakk. Normally I reserve the protective shield Heavy Stubbers for Tank Commanders, but this model has a special place in my heart/blame so it gets one to stand out extra!

*The Rogal Dorn is a magnificent tank. Outfitted for extreme horde clearing and general purpose demolition, it is primed for battlefield domination.*

*My Steel Legion Valkyrie Squadron is entirely comprised of 3 rescue birds. Each one ran me 5$. This particular one only had 1.5 sprues, so about half of it is cardstock. I HATE plasticard.*

This was my first Valkyrie ever, also 5$. It came missing some pieces, so I tore it up a bit more. I had some spare guardsmen and it came with a fun kit bashed Tyranid Chaos monster. So I put it on the attack and made it into a tiny diorama. I’ve lost a couple of sparks made from toothpicks over the years and the light in the bay no longer works. It is VERY old.

*Why have 1 Meltagun when you can have 2?!*

*The last 5$ rescue came with the missing sprue ones. This one had 2 of the 3 sprues, so it is only partially made from cardstock.*
