Cadian Shock Showcase

For my Cadian army I went with a simple but enjoyable tiger strip camo scheme. As any remaining Cadian forces that survived the Fall of Cadia became rather veteran, I decided to portray my force as a platoon of Cadian Shock Conscripts that have since achieved the standard guardsman status or veteran status. This collection is ever growing as any lot purchased used is pretty much guaranteed to have yet more Cadian infantry! Cadia tends to use the standard staple and balanced set of weapons, so I prioritized tanks such as the Leman Russ Battle Tank. To further roleplay the force better, I am in the process of setting up highly inflexible infantry platoons that are mass equipped with one type of special and heavy weapon. Various organized companies will make up the eventual battalion strength force, each focused one particular role. This force is constantly growing and will no doubt quickly make the total army photo obsolete.

This photo consists of 746 Infantry, 3 weapon emplacements, 2 Combat Walkers, 43 Tanks, 10 Super Heavies, and 1 uber super heavy!
Lord Castellan Creed takes to the field with his personal Company Command Squad, Colour Sergeant Kell, and a wide variety of advisors he can disperse during the battle from his designated Chimera as he sees fit. Additional support includes Master of Ordnance, Lord Commissar, Minostorum Priest, Officer of the Fleet, Commissar, Primaris Psyker, and an Enginseer.
Ursula Creed follows in her father’s footsteps. While she does not take a command squad or retinue into battle, she has her own Chimera as well to see that she can get to and from the thick of the fighting as needed.
1st Company, 1st Platoon. 1 Command Squad (standard issue Heavy Flamer, Standard, Vox Caster, and Medicae), 5 Guardsmen Squads (Flamer, Vox Caster), 2 Special Weapon Squads (3 Flamers, Vox Caster), and a Chimera for the Platoon Commander to utilize as he sees fit. Typical Assault Platoon.

1st Company, 2nd Platoon. Another Assault Platoon, identical loadouts outside of Leadership and Chimera wargear.
Taddeus the Purifier and his trusted Pious Vorne lead 1st Company 2nd Platoon.
1st Company 3rd Platoon is another assault Platoon.
Espern Locarno leads 1st Company 3rd Platoon. Using his ties with the Navigator houses, he utilizes this Platoon to deep recon into enemy territory searching for relics. A Primaris Psyker assists due to their increased exposure when Outflanking.
2nd Company, 1st Platoon is part of a Heavy Weapon Company. 1st Platoon brings a full compliment of Mortars for indirect fire support and suppression. Standard heavy weapon platoons consist of a Command Squad (heavy weapon, Vox Caster, Standard), 2 Guardsmen Squads (Grenade Launcher, heavy weapon, Vox Caster), and 5 Heavy Weapon Squads (3 Heavy Weapons, Vox Caster). A unit of Veterans with a Missile Launcher and loaded to the teeth acts as the flexible unit in the force. The Command Squad is issues a Chimera for further flexibility.
With less front line contact, only 1 Commissar and a Lord Commissar are present instead of the usual 2 Commissars.
These Veterans are packing 3 extra Grenade Launchers for maximum saturation.
2nd Company, 2nd Platoon is focused on Lascannons. Their main role is destruction of heavy assets.
Some of my Lascannons were assembled in creative ways by former owners to get around the tripod shortage. I liked the ingenuity and kept them.
Sometimes you just have to blow all of your points on antitank guns.
2nd Company, 3rd Platoon is focused on Autocannons. Their main role is the destruction of terrain and obstacles, before pounding the enemy with high powered rounds.
An interesting Chimerax kitbash I got in a used sale. It adds an excessive amount of monsterbane fire to the platoon.
I ran out of brass casings and can’t replace them, so I had to switch to another bead type halfway through.
2nd Company, 4th Platoon is focused on Heavy Bolters. Its main role is sanitation duty. General this involves pointing them all in a direction and then sanitizing whatever infantry is in said direction.
Got a used team built with an old Scout Marine Heavy Bolter arms. I like it! Makes for a great Veteran Heavy Weapons Team for the Platoon Command Squad.
Missing a gunner at random? He was probably going to explode and/or burst into flames anyways. Nothing a bit of cotton ball, light priming, and some paint can’t fix!
3rd Company 1st “Platoon”. I have not found any references to Rough Rider Platoons yet, but could still happen! If you know any reach out! These are from a user on Thingiverse, you should give them a try! Pretty good for free stl files. I plan on printing more to have Company like strength at some point.
Lord Solar Leontus takes charge on the recon element of the battalion. The Armoured Sentinel Squadron operates with them due to their high rate of movement.

4th Company Stormtroopers. Its a whole lot of vintage metal figures, though some have the new plastic backpacks. Not sure why people lost them all the time.
4th Company, 1st Platoon. They are all nearly identical with the Stormtrooper Platoon Command Squad consisting of 4 plasma gunners for maximum fire power, and then 3 10 man squad of Stormtroopers with varied special weapons paired up for roles.
4th Company, 2nd Platoon. A cool Sergeant kitbash from a used mini diorama I bought. I thought he made a striking Stormtrooper Platoon Commander.
4th Company, 3rd Platoon is no quite complete. I need a few more vintage Kasrkins to fill it out.
5th Platoon will be a Ratling Platoon lead by Rein and Rauss. 6th Platoon will be a Beastmen Platoon lead by Commissar Severina Raine. I’ve been focusing on vintage and FW stuff I do not have yet and have not had the time to get a bunch of Ratlings, Gors, and Ungors. Yet.
7th Platoon is a Mechanized Infantry Platoon still under construction. It is lead by Colonel Snake Stranski (a poor stand in for now, he is hard to find. If you have one you are willing to trade let me know). More infantry are required to flush it out properly, but it will consist of Platoon formations when it is complete.
Colonel Schaeffer’s Last Chancers are tagging along. Their mission is highly confidential, and likely a Chimera will be missing from the motor pool in a matter of minutes.
These vehicles were painted rather well. Another trade I got, I kept them and left their distinct look to stand out from the rest of my Companies. You may have noticed that the Stormlord has crew enclosure. Not quite table legal, but looks cool! There is also a converted Trojan Recovery Vehicle.
The Armoured Spearhead of the Battalion is comprised of 2 Leman Russ Companies (still being flushed out, its hard to supply 10 regiments with tanks!) and a company of Thunderers. A few more Thunderers need to be printed once I finish the Capitol Imperialis, but that will be a while. The left Company is running Battle Cannons and will be focused on lighter weaponry underneath that level of firepower. It is lead by a 5 dollar rescue command tank I salvaged. The right Company is lead by Captain Obadiah Schfeer (a poor proxy, if you have one and are interested in trading let me know!). His Company is focused on heavy destruction like Demolishers and Vanquishers.
Knight Commander Pask Is escorted by a pair of Punishers and an Atlas Recovery Vehicle to deploy as he sees fit.
Pask has a custom radar dish that just looks great! Part of a trade.
The Rogal Dorn has single handedly been the most satisfying kit to assemble that GW has ever produced in my opinion! I only have 2 in collections for now but will get more!
The Baneblade Armoured Company is lead by a striking red Baneblade Commander I got from a local seller. I loved the paint job and left it alone so it pops even more!
The Leviathan Regimental HQ may be focused heavily on supporting infantry, but its Doomsday Cannon is the most powerful weapon deployed in the game! Per Epic 40k this is lore accurate. The point cost is enormous, and the amount of space it takes up even more so!
It has an unofficial landing pad on the back for disembarking commanding officers for the command tower.
The stain glass was a lot of fun to paint, even if I am terrible at it. Took. For. Ev. Er.
A recon Baneblade Company! For those of you wondering, you can build a second baneblade variant from a box set instead of an octoblade. I made a video about it here.
Sometimes your recon Baneblade Company needs some fire support. So the Banesword comes along.
Field Artillery and a Sabre Platform allow for some additional protection and angry projection! A second Master of Ordnance is present to make their shots more accurate.
Hell’s last box set includes a special command squad made up of 5 Unique Characters! These are staying in my general HQ choice for now until I start another company.
Somehow I managed to not get pictures of my artillery elements. Consists of 3 Basilisks, 3 Hydra Flaks, and a Praetor Launcher. Praetor Launchers exists because sometimes something else on the battlefield should not!
