- AA weapons do not negate their Shooting Phase by firing Defensively.
A bit late, but double birthday party apocalypse! Game started with 6000 points fielded per side at any given time, with another 3000 added as reinforcements (delayed players) arrived!
I have been waiting for this opportunity for a while, deploying 3 full platoons of metal Kasrkins (105 9f them) backed by a heavy weapon platoon armed with Heavy Bolters. Reinforcements is the Leviathan Regimental HQ, fully armed and upgraded!
Allies were Eldar. We wanted to test the first draft of the Warlock Council for A4R, so Alex brought 3 full squads of 5 and general Eldar units.
Opposing the horde was an alliance of Khorne and Tzeentch, with Orks as reinforcements. Khorne brought the immediate infantry support, and Tzeentch brought armour support.

A basement area was designated by the entries in thd building nearby.

Stormtroopers held in Reserves while the heavy weapons deployed. This was not a smart list. This was a list built to test holding back an enemy force in their own deployment zone before walling them off altogether.
Eldar began pouring into the basement.

Heavy Bolters began pounding enemy formations, focusing fire one two different Berserker Squads. The dice demanded blood and many Armour Saves were failed.

Eldar pushed for the Med Bay on the other flank while the humans provided overwhelming fire support.

Stormtroopers on the back line are in Reserve.

The Greater Brass Scorpion began moving up, hammering the forward bunker and strafing the Warp Spiders.

The Kratos began hammering the front line with 2 Defilers spreading out the pain! Vaashtor bolstered one of the Defiler’s shooting.

Heavy bolter fire took its toll, but the chaos infantry pushed forwards.

Then the Kasrkin arrived! The 3 platoons generated 9 Stormtrooper Squads of 10 with 3 Command Squads of 5. With only a single botched landing, 11 squads landed in perfect firing positions!

The battered forward units were mowed down from behind by hellguns and special weapons.

This also created a hard barrier that would slow the respawning chaos forces down significantly, as most couldn’t Deepstrike.
The Chaos generals were not fools. They teleported Obliterators (formerly obliterated) into the gun line and began pounding the Eldar Warlock Councils and weapon teams.

Chaos Infantry respawned and began hammering the wall of stormtroopers. Casualties were high as expected, but containment was maintained.

Pox Walkers and stray Bolt Pistols whittled down the melta squad to 2 men. They fell back.

Only a handful of chaos forces entered the doorway. Everyone else was mowed down.

A lone Stormtrooper Commander survived the charge and cut down 1 Jakhal. Three other Jakhals were killed by their own frenzied teammates, causing them to flee off the table!

Eldar began bogging down the Obliterators. They were able to tie them up with fantastic Saves, but it was a highly point inefficient way of doing so.

Orks arrived! And so did my Leviathan Regimental HQ! But, it is not fast enough to enter the battlefield from Reserves, invoking a very rare rule in A4R. This means it moves fully onto the table but can do nothing else this turn! Immediately I began compiling my Heavy Bolter platoon into it using a combination of movement, respawns, and experimental Eldar Council spells.

An opening was punched through the new chaos line and shots started getting thrown at Vaashtor!

A massive mob of Mega Nobz showed up! The immediately cracked the last Void Shields active this round and prepared to attack next round!

More Orks showed up! Boyz began mobbing the field. Combined with the concentrated Chaos forces, the 2000 points of Stormtroopers took tons of casualties!

Both the Champion and the Berzerker with Plasma Pistols simultaneously overheated!

The Duel saw the KasrKin Sergeant slash the Master of Possession twice before being slain. The remaining Kasrkins retreated and the fight resumed.

Ain’t no party like a Guardsmen Party! Party Bus made a full rotation (6″, special rule for its size) and gifted the power of the sun at point blank range.
Other guns pounded the flanks, but the nobs were too close to bear against them!

Stormtroopers landed en mass again. This time, my scatter rolls were horrific and several squads became pinned.

The Scorpion demolish mist of the bunker structure by moving through it and annihilated Eldar Guardians.

300 models died total, almost half of them Stormtroopers. However, the brutal hellguns, aggression, and locking Chaos into their own lines resulted in a Victory of 9 to 1 in favor of the Cadians and Eldar!
Chaos fought well, but a combination of solid dice rolls and unexpected tactics on our part took its toll!
The Warlock Council is undergoing further development and is not available to the public just yet. Warp Spiders are undergoing changes as well as we do not feel they fit in quite right.
